For more than a decade, we have taken great pride not only in offering young children a high-quality early childhood experience, but also in nurturing a community of children, teachers, families, and alumni grounded in connection, care, and belonging.

GPFP is a place where children can explore in a safe, loving, and nurturing environment. It is a place where teachers inspire children to follow their interests, wonder freely, express their creativity, and develop confidence, independence, and meaningful relationships. It is also a community where families feel supported, and teachers feel valued in their essential work with children.

Over the past eleven years, we have listened closely to children as they share what this school means to them. A child new to our community once told their teacher, “I belong here. My new school is a special place for me.” A child attending preschool and separating from family for the first time said, “It’s okay to cry at preschool. My teachers will take care of me until my grown-up comes back.” A child preparing to move on to kindergarten reflected, “I am going to miss how all of the teachers make me feel like there’s a space in the school for me.”

These words are a remarkable gift. They remind us that children notice when they are welcomed, heard, comforted, and valued. They show us that a true sense of belonging begins early—and that every child deserves to know they have a place, a voice, and people who care deeply about them.

Why annual giving matters

The Annual Giving Campaign helps fully fund our school’s operating budget. Like many independent nonprofit schools, GPFP relies on fundraising to bridge the gap between tuition revenue and the true cost of providing a high-quality preschool program.

Gifts to the Annual Giving Campaign provide the flexibility to direct resources where they are needed most, including:

Because of fundraising efforts such as Annual Giving, GPFP has provided more than $170,000 in financial aid to families whose children might not otherwise have been able to attend our school. Fundraising is not simply an extra part of our budget; it is a vital part of how we sustain the caring, responsive, high-quality community that families know and love.

Last year, our community raised nearly $15,000 through the Annual Giving Campaign. This year, we hope to build on that generosity and continue investing in the people, spaces, and experiences that make Growing Place such a special home for children and families.
